About Me
I grew up on a turkey farm in a small town in Dubois County, Indiana. As a young girl, I would help the less fortunate baby chicks find water and food to give them a fighting chance at survival. As I matured and my personality blossomed. My Godmother, Florence provided me with the opportunity to volunteer at the local hospital in the therapy department. She knew before I did what my Godly purpose was in this life.
I took these opportunities and built upon them applying for the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at the University of Southern Indiana. After graduation in 2001, I worked in a rehabilitation facility in Terre Haute Indiana. I soon transferred to the Evansville, Indiana facility after marrying the man of my dreams in 2002.
The rehabilitation group I was assigned to was the Cardio-Pulmonary Team. Here I conducted relaxation groups, educated patients on proper breathing and energy conservation techniques. All while getting the clients stronger to go home and be independent. A flier for the John Barnes Myofascial Release training course came to me in the mail. I looked over it and thought how perfect this would be to add to my current rehabilitation program for these clients! I got the approval and signed up for the first 2 of 3 courses that week. The third course was for the pelvis and I was in Occupational Therapy and why would I need to learn anything about the pelvis. Oh, I have learned so much over the years.
This was a turning point in my life. It no longer made sense to strengthen the problem. I just didn't fit into the rehabilitation setting anymore. Where did I fit? I tried Long Term Care, Home Health Care, and Outpatient Therapy. Each opportunity helping me to grow and bloom, but still didn't feel like I had found my purpose. I felt the pressure of being there for my 2 children, along with maintaining productivity for the company I worked for, having dinner on the table and keeping the house tidy. I tried hard to make it work, but I am only one woman with one superpower.....Love.
In 2014 I experienced a brief pause in my life. This gave me the opportunity to look at my situation and reevaluate my priorities. With the love and support of my husband and 3 current clients, I left my weekly paycheck to open Fascial Bliss. I am most grateful for these angels, along with others, because I would never have done it without your support.
Today, I am helping people throughout the community take back control of their pain and their life! I am practicing what I preach! I gave God control of my life. He is my rock, my foundation for every part of each and every day. I am so thankful for my parents, who raised me to have strong Faith in Christ.
I would like to welcome you to Fascial Bliss. Fascial Bliss was born in August of 2014. I have been a myofascial release bodyworker since 2004 and a Reiki practitioner since 2012. I strive to create a greater good in all circumstances.
