Can MRF Help Me?
Often a client will tell me that they have been diagnosed with “this” or “that” or maybe even “this and that!” Their first question is, "Can you fix or help this condition?". A diagnosis is the label given to your symptoms so you can be treated and your insurance company knows how to process your claim. Unfortunately, symptoms get treated and the cause is overlooked or not addressed. That's where MFR comes in. A skilled practitioner is looking at the whole picture. During the initial evaluation and at the beginning of every session, the practitioner is looking to see where your body may be misaligned, pulled out of balance or restricted. Yes, we treat your symptoms but more importantly, we treat your whole body.
The medical approach is to drug patients so they temporarily are free from pain, but does nothing about the “straight-jacket” of pressure that is causing the pain. Traditional physical, occupational and massage therapy treats the symptoms caused by the pressure of the “straightjacket” of the Myofascial system, but does nothing about the “straightjacket” of pressure that causes and perpetuates the symptoms. This is why so many patients only have temporary results never seeming to get better with traditional therapy. Only Myofascial Release treats the entire Myofascial mind/body complex eliminating the pressure of the restricted Myofascial system (the straightjacket) that causes the symptoms.
Contraindication of Myofascial Release
Contraindications for MFR, such as malignancy, aneurysm, and acute rheumatoid arthritis may be considered absolute, while others, such as hematoma, open wounds, healing fractures, etc. may be regional.
